There are many who say that a wedding day is all about the bride and the groom pretty much doesn’t get any attention at all. I suppose this is true up to a point but it definitely needs to change because this is the day that is celebration of both of them. Many grooms however prefer to take a back seat when it comes to the wedding ceremony and I suppose if it was up to them, they would rather just go to the town hall and get the marriage registered there with no fuss. There are however others who want their big day and they want to have input into how everything is organised.

It is unusual for the bride to give any responsibility to the groom except to turn up on the day but it will be an excellent idea to let him decide about the wedding suits that need to be chosen not just for himself but for his best man and others as well. If you are groom to be then there are a number of things that you should be aware of for your big day and the following are just some of those.
- Always be available – It’s likely that you will not be asked to do anything more than the responsibilities that you have already but it’s important to make sure that you are there for your bride if she needs you at all. Organising a wedding is incredibly difficult and your future bride-to-be will be starting to organise everything at least one year out from the actual wedding day. It’s likely that she is going to get stressed out and so that’s when you step in and try to reassure her that everything is going to be okay.
- Pick the right best man – This is a responsibility that is left up to the groom, so make sure that you choose wisely. It’s tempting to choose the guy who has been your friend for years and is an incredible amount of fun but you know already that he is incredibly unreliable and so don’t choose him. Pick someone that you know will be able to take care of the rings and who will be able to step up at any time for additional duties.
- Always be ready to step in – This is your big day as well and even though you have been given a secondary role, it’s important that you are able to step in at any time to help. Get yourself informed about what is going on so that in the event that your bride needs some assistance, you can swoop in and save the day. Always try to keep your finger on the pulse of what is going on at any given time.
Make sure that you fulfil the responsibilities that have been given to you so that you can put your best foot forward on one of the biggest days of your life.
